March 2, 2017

Cologne, March 2, 2017 – Interbrand, the world’s leading brand consultancy, announced that Simon Thun has been named Chief Executive Officer of Interbrand Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), effective April 1, 2017. In his role, Simon Thun will be responsible for leading strategic development and growth of Interbrand in Central and Eastern Europe. He will report directly to Gonzalo Brujó, CEO of Interbrand EMEA & LatAm.

“I believe that Simon’s vast knowledge and experience in the areas of business strategy, marketing, and brand management will help us to provide clients with best-in-class solutions for growing their brands and businesses. The professional services landscape is changing rapidly, and I am convinced that Simon will be the perfect fit to drive this change for Interbrand in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Jez Frampton, Interbrand’s Global CEO.

For the last three years, Simon Thun has served as the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi Germany. Prior to Saatchi & Saatchi, Simon was Managing Director of the German office of Prophet Brand Strategy. Simon joined Prophet through the acquisition of Noshokaty, Döring & Thun, a management consulting boutique he co-founded in 2005. Before that Simon was Manager at BBDO Consulting (now Batten & Company).

“Interbrand is committed to investing in Germany and to growing one of our key global markets with the best talent. With Simon’s extensive background in both consulting and the creative industry, he has great expertise along our entire range of services: from insights and strategy to experience and activation,” said Gonzalo Brujó, CEO of Interbrand EMEA & LatAm. “Combined with his vast experience partnering with international blue-chip clients as well as top players in Germany, Simon will help to grow Interbrand’s business and reputation in Germany and Central & Eastern Europe.“

Commenting on his appointment, Thun said: “It is a thrilling, critical time to be taking on this ambitious role: With change (often digitally-induced) seemingly the only constant, most companies across Europe are looking for new ways to drive and secure growth. Building on the strong belief of brands as the business strategy brought to life, Interbrand is uniquely positioned to deliver the clear, rigorous and inspirational work it takes to navigate and lead this change. I look forward to applying this same rigor and passion to our own growth objectives.”
