Interbrand Announces the Release of Lanmarq, the Ultimate Reference Book to the Most Influential Brands of Latin America & Iberia

MADRID (November 19, 2014) — Interbrand, the world’s leading brand consultancy, today announced the release of Lanmarq, a book focusing on the most influential brands in Latin America & Iberia. Lanmarq was written by Gonzalo Brujó, Chairman of Interbrand Latin America and Iberia, and includes a prologue from John Wren, President and CEO of Omnicom Group as well as a closing chapter from Jez Frampton, Global CEO of Interbrand.

While reflecting upon the history of Latin markets, as well as the profound social and economic changes that have impacted these countries in recent years, this groundbreaking book provides an in-depth overview of the countries’ leading brands and their role in the global marketplace. The book also examines the forces that are reshaping and advancing the creation of brands and brand management in Latin America & Iberia.

The book’s title, Lanmarq, is a combination of “Latin American Networks” and “marq” – an adaptation of the word “marca,” the Spanish word for brand. It also serves as a reference to the word “landmark,” which is a nod to those Latin American & Iberian brands that are constantly innovating and reshaping the brand landscape in their respective regions for the better.

Lanmarq references over 1,000 brands from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Central America, Chile, Colombia, Caribbean, Ecuador, the Guianas and Suriname, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, the US Hispanic market, Spain and Portugal, and outlines each of their local as well global marketing and brand-building efforts.
