Interbrand Group Names Hales as Global Communications Officer

New York, NY, USA and London, UK, March 20, 2007 – Interbrand Group, the leading global brand consultancy, announced today the appointment of Graham Hales as Chief Communications Officer.

Hales, will lead knowledge management, brand reputation and marketing communications efforts for Interbrand across its 34 offices around the world. He will be responsible for the future growth and development of the firm’s own brand to ensure that Interbrand continues to deliver innovative creative and strategic branding solutions for a portfolio of clients including AT&T, InterContinental, GE, Procter & Gamble, McDonald’s and Xerox.

Graham is the best man for this role,” said Jez Frampton, Interbrand Group Chief Executive. Hales began his career in advertising spending eight years at various advertising agencies. He joined Interbrand in 1997 to work in the brand innovation team. Soon after, Hales was tapped to lead the firm’s corporate branding team in the UK and in 2004 he became an executive director of Interbrand, taking responsibility for the client management function and international business development. In 2005 he then moved on to head up the marketing team taking full control of business development within the London office. At this time he recognised the increasing potential of brands in the Middle East, India and Turkey, Hales lead the development of an Interbrand offering in these new markets.

In this new role, Hales has been invited to join the Interbrand Group Board. He also sits on the Group Steering Committee, a group dedicated to the ongoing growth and development of the Interbrand network. Hales is a regular conference speaker, columnist and media commentator on brands and their changing environment and has lectured to MBA students at universities throughout the world.

Hales’ appointment replaces the role of Global Director, previously held by Jeff Swystun who has moved on to DDB Worldwide as Global Communications Director. Both Interbrand and DDB are part of Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC).
