Europe according to the United States of America: a map by Yanko Tsvetkov

Posted by: Jennifer Bassett on October 05, 2010

Americans are often criticized for their limited view of the world. Here's a map that plays with typical U.S. stereotypes of Europe by Yanko Tsvetkov, a Bulgarian graphic designer and illustrator.

His project, "Mapping Stereotypes: The Geography of Prejudice" has become an internet sensation and garnered over a half-a-billion hits since its publication. More of his maps can be viewed on his website, including Europe According to Germany, Europe According to Russia, and Europe According to France.

Loving the graphic! Sad thing is that humour is usually rooted in truth - and in this case, most of these assumptions are true.

This is pretty hilarious. That said, I would be interested in seeing those countries perceptions of the US too. I am pretty sure, that would be equally funny.
