Vincent Baroin is CEO for Paris and COO / CFO for Interbrand in EMEA & LatAm. He is responsible for managing performance across 10 offices in 9 countries.
Vincent believes that Finance & Operations should be at the heart of the business: it should help operational people to make sharp decisions. “We should have the same level of expectation with our internal clients as we have with our external ones. Performance shouldn’t be the ultimate objective. It is great people doing great work and growing our clients’ brands and businesses that will help growing our own brand and business. Managing performance is the best way to detect and prevent disorganization in the company.”
Since joining Interbrand in 2003, Vincent has contributed to the building of the Interbrand network across EMEA & LatAm. Vincent believes that we can only deliver high quality work to our clients if our most important asset—our people—are given the opportunity to develop and express their talent. “Talent is one of the main drivers of achievement; in the same way, high performance will enable us to develop talent. It’s a virtuous circle.” Vincent’s work is to find the balance between performance and the investment required for talent development. He believes this aim is critical to Interbrand’s ability to better serve its clients.
After earning a Master’s in Finance in Paris IX – Dauphine University, Vincent joined Total as the Finance Manager of one of its African subsidiaries (Equatorial Guinea). After two years, he came back to France and worked as a Business Analyst at Nike. Leaving Nike, he joined Oracle as a consultant for their ERP product (Oracle Financial). In 1998, Vincent joined Japan Tobacco International (Camel & Winston) in a Senior Financial controller position. In 2003, Vincent joined Interbrand as France CFO and then became COO for Interbrand in Europe, before being promoted COO / CFO of Interbrand in EMEA & LatAm in April 2008.
